Cable and Lace Hat

I finished this one so long ago, but never got the chance to take pictures or write a post.
But during this lovely and previously mild winter that we have had, this hat has gotten some good use.
I used this pattern and some beautiful alpaca yarn that I bought from a farmers market.

It was a more challenging pattern than I have made before, but it was really fun to learn how to  make lace stitches and how to cable without a cable needle- which both proved to be as terrifying and rewarding as I had thought it would be.\

Unfortunately, the yarn does not allow for a great stitch definition or great photos of the stitches. But I still think the texture adds something special to this hat.

Enjoy the last bit of 2015!
