Knitter's Guilt

You fellow crocheters will know how proudly we correct people who say "oh what are you knitting?" and "Great sweater! Did you knit that?". Uh yeah, It's crochet.

Now that I am knitting there seems to be some... knitters guilt? I don't know. Its like I am purposefully ignoring the little cries of my crochet hook collection. Its because on my "Crafty Make List" there is absolutely no crochet. Its filled with knit! I don't have a "Crocheted Christmas" list this year. Its all about what I can knit for people. And the only thing on my wish list is a nice set of wooden interchangeable knitting needles.

Knitters Guilt. It's a thing.

I don't know if it will go away. I don't know if I will just get used to it. But I just want to be happily knitting and purling the day away without the shame of forgetting about my crochet.

Anyone else ever make the big crochet-to-knit switch and feel a little sad, but mostly ecstatic about it?

Oh well. I am actually thoroughly enjoying myself. Joyfully Creating. Thats what I do.

Have a good one folks!

  1. I'm sure if you made me something for Christmas you'd feel better about all this knitting. ;)

  2. I don't know how to crochet, but I hear you on knitter guilt- specifically my ravelry queue. I feel guilty when I don't knit as much as I'd like, and I know the list it a little out of hand. I'll never knit it all!

    1. Oh that's another problem I have. If only there was more time in the day!

  3. Hello! Can I join this club? Hahah, your post made me laugh! I've been in a crocheting groove all summer, no knitting whatsoever! Now (=yesterday) I started knitting a scarf (for my son's brithday), but I'm still doing crochet. I think it might have something to do with the start of autumn. The weather here in Belgium has turned much cooler and now it is pouring with rain - again! Where is my August? I want sunshine and warmth!!! Anyway, it is making me think of what to make for the colder weather next.
PS: I got a multitude of tempting things saved on ravelry, not to mind extra books and magazines! :)
Life is too short NOT to crochet/knit/sew!!!
Greetings from a rainy Belgium today!

    1. My weather seems to be the same in Canada! Its been raining for days, and really cold for August! I think my guilt is because I just started learning to knit, and being a student, I want to learn as much as I can about something before I move on. In other words, I might be stuck on knitting for a while!
